HEALTH OUTSIDE THE BOX by Dodow

Inspired by yoga, hypnotherapy and meditation, developing Dodow immersed us into a deep study of alternative methods for fixing health problems; sleeping was just a first step.

We would like to share with you our studies, and help you discover health and well-being advice, that are easy to put into practice.

White noise against noise disturbance

What to do if your neighbours suddenly form a Deathmetal band and produce a single called "Vuvuzelas and jackhammers" while screeching groupies congregate in front of your house ?

At this point, moving isn't a bad idea. On the other hand you could also try white noise. :)

How does it work ?

We all have an internal alarm that works unconsciously, even when we're sleeping. A noise variation (like the sound of a dog barking in the distance) triggers this alarm.

The point of white noise is that it tricks this alarm by masking the noise variations with a different noise, which is constant and less troublesome. If you're in that, here's a little scientific study to confirm the whole works...

Generally, white noise doesn't prevent many people from falling asleep and can even help some of them.

Different types of white noises

"White noise" is a generic term. Different types of sound exist to help you cover troublesome noises:

- Natural sounds: rain, waves, crickets, fireplace...

- Machine sounds : air conditioning, fans, washing machines...
